Question Arises Over Fee

I heard someone mention the other night, that the old landfill fee, that was suppose to of been refunded to everyone that paid it, was not refunded.
The money was spent and now some have questioned why and how the money was spent.
Looks like it's about to heat up in WC again.
You can tell our local elections are getting geared up when the local mudslinging starts. And especially when it starts this early. Gonna be a hot time in WC in 07.

Someone is wrong. The fee was never supposed to have been refunded.

I don't know one way or the other. Never really thought anything about it. But it seems like it's gonna be some kind of issue.

Now then, since I was just as much of a smartbutt as you was. As best I recall, the ruling came down about the landfill use fee, there was talk of refunds, but there was also the fact that the landfill use fee was collected in good faith, meaning that it was, when collected a valid fee. I think the bestest friend of Appy, Mr. McAfee, was the one who was pursuing it, but the last I heard or remember reading was that the county attorney had answered for the county, and showed other examples where a fee or such was not refundable. Even going back and reading online at coalfield.com there appears to be no concrete information or answers. I would think if there was anything valid, in over what, 2 years, there would be an answer [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

But hey if you want the county to somehow try to refund that money, I say go for it. Shoot, you keep that up and we may have a store in Dickenson County afterall (once Wise County is sold to the lowest bidder)
